Designed exclusively for 28.6mm (1-1/8") threadless steerers — the universal standard on modern road, gravel, and MTB forks. Three-piece assembly: the black top bolt, the CNC aluminum expansion body with dual O-rings, and the locking base nut. Tighten with a common 8mm hex/Allen key to 10N·m or greater. Expansion range 23–25.5mm covers virtually all 28.6mm fork inner diameters.

No More Free-Spinning Nut

Conventional expansion nuts allow the nut body to spin freely with the bolt, making it difficult to judge actual clamping torque. The Aoeagle anti-spin pin engages with the body to hold it stationary — you feel exactly when the O-rings are gripping the steerer wall, and you apply precise torque without fighting the spinning nut.

Why This Matters on Carbon

Over-torquing is one of the leading causes of carbon steerer damage. The anti-spin pin gives you tactile confirmation of engagement before you reach damaging torque levels — a small detail that protects a very expensive fork.

What the Star Nut Does

Works together with the headset top cap to compress the headset bearings, eliminate play in the steering assembly, secure the top cap, and improve weather sealing against water ingress.
