WHEELTOP EDS for Gravel Bikes: Setup Guide
Which WHEELTOP EDS system suits your gravel bike, and how to set it up: gearing, brakes, calibration and care.
Quick answer: for a 1x gravel bike, use WHEELTOP EDS GeX: 3–14 speed, 75mm cage up to 42T or 93mm up to 52T, hydraulic brake-shifter levers with flat mount calipers (160mm rotors). If your drop-bar bike keeps two chainrings, TX is the 2x option, with cassettes up to 36T.
Choosing Your System
- 1x, wide range: GeX, with the 93mm cage for cassettes up to 52T.
- 2x drop bar: TX, 7–14 speed, up to 36T.
See GeX vs TX.
Frame Checks
- Straight hanger with a step for the derailleur tab; UDH frames mount on the UDH hanger
- Flat mount brakes, 160mm rotors (GeX and TX disc)
- Freehub that matches your cassette
Setup
- Mount the derailleur, fit and cut the chain.
2. Wake the kit with the magnetic charging cable; it ships paired.
3. In the app, set the speed count (RD → Flywheel settings).
4. Calibrate on the smallest sprocket with the cranks turning.
5. Set the B-screw so the upper jockey wheel sits as close to the largest sprocket as possible without rubbing.
6. Fine-tune each gear, then set the limit screws.
Riding Modes
Standard mode sleeps when idle for longer battery life, good for long gravel days. Racing mode stays awake for maximum responsiveness.
Dust and Wet
Derailleurs are IP67 and shift levers IP65. GeX is rated for −10°C to 50°C. Clean with low-pressure water.
