WHEELTOP RA7800 / RA7800 Pro / RA7000 Metal-Resin Brake Pad

A genuine WHEELTOP replacement brake pad set for the RA7800, RA7800 Pro, and earlier RA7000 hydraulic disc brake calipers. Semi-metallic resin compound on an aluminum alloy heat-sink backing plate — built to fit the original caliper spec exactly.

Semi-Metallic Resin Compound

Wheeltop RA7800 metal-resin brake pad pair with spring clip

This semi-metallic pad uses a specially formulated resin powder in the compound, giving it stronger wear resistance, a shorter bedding-in period, and sharp brake response — the trade-off is a slightly grabbier bite under hard braking. It's also a more eco-friendly formulation than standard semi-metallic pads.

Aluminum Alloy Backing Plate

Each pad is bonded to a finned aluminum alloy backing plate, which also serves as the heat sink described below.

Heat Sink Fins — Rapid Cooling Design

Fins are cut into the backing plate on multiple sides, channeling airflow across the pad from several directions for better heat dissipation.

Why It Matters

This cross-flow design keeps the pad and caliper running cooler on long descents, helping stave off brake fade when they're working hardest.

RA7800 / RA7800 Pro / RA7000 Calipers Only

This pad set is sized for the WHEELTOP RA7800 series — RA7800, RA7800 Pro, and the earlier RA7000 caliper. It is not compatible with other caliper models.

Push the Pistons Back Before Fitting

This brake system automatically compensates for pad wear — as the pads wear down, the caliper pistons gradually extend to maintain the correct gap between the rotor and the pad. Because of this self-adjusting design, the pistons must be pushed back into the caliper before installing new pads.

When to Replace

Replace the pads if brake fluid contaminates the pad surface during bleeding, or once the pad material has worn down to 0.5mm.
