Titanium Bike Build: Gloria All-Road Unboxing & WHEELTOP EDS GeX First Impressions

Hello everyone! Today is an exciting day as I unbox all the parts for my new 'Gloria' titanium bike build. I’m building this because I wanted a dedicated summer and winter bike setup. After consulting with experts, I chose the Gloria All-Road frame—a stunning piece of London-designed titanium craftsmanship with incredible welds and a very clean look, thanks to its internal cable routing and removable cable guides.

The heart of this build is the WHEELTOP EDS GeX wireless groupset. I’ve been using the WHEELTOP TX (the 2x version) on my other bike for thousands of miles, and it has been superb. For this bike, I’m switching to a 1x system. The GeX shifters feel familiar, but the real magic is in the rear derailleur. It’s technically a 14-speed unit, but the beauty of WHEELTOP is its universal compatibility—you can set it up for anything from 8 to 14 speeds through the app. This allows me to fine-tune every single cog individually, which is a game-changer if you have one noisy gear.

For the rest of the drivetrain, I’ve gone with a SRAM Apex wide crank (165mm) and a massive SRAM Eagle 10-50T cassette for those steep climbs. I’m also sticking with my favorites from Redshift: the Top Shelf riser bars for a more upright position, the ShockStop suspension stem (a lifesaver as I get older!), and the ShockStop seatpost. I’ve even got some fancy titanium bottle cages to match the frame. I’m just an amateur at bike building, so I’ll probably make some mistakes along the way, but I want to show that anyone can do this.
